In The Beginning |
Initial setup consisted of a Kenwood TS-2000, Astron 35M power supply and aHeathkit SWR/Power meter. This was connected to an MFJ-1798 vertical at 20 feet on a ground mounted roof tower.

Heavy copper bus bar with additional straps just waiting for new toys. I used a #4 AWG bare copper wire to connect to the ground system outside. Everything exits the room through a 2: conduit in the wall.

Coax and ground exit through 2" conduit. Uses 2 10 foot and one 8 foot grounding rods connected with #4 AWG buried bare copper wire along side of house. Future LM-354 54ft. tower is to be installed just this side of the A/C unit.Permit pending.

MFJ-1798 located in the small side yard. . I made my first contact on 20m to a Montana station. As far as I could tell, the antenna worked reasonably well though I had nothing to compare it to at the time. I later sold it after replacing it with a GAP Titan vertical.
